Waiting On Wednesday (1)

Hey readers, it's Tika here with my very first tag on fANGIRLconfessions . . . Waiting on Wednesday! WWW is a weekly meme hosted at Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases we're most excited for. I kept it short and sweet with just 3 titles that release dates are in September. Read more below to find out what they are!

Release Date: September 23, 2014

Horrostor I want you NOW!
Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix is not your typical horror story. It follows 5 employees, as they work a night shift to figure out who or what has been vandalizing their store. Whats interesting about this book, is that it takes place in a store inspired by Ikea named Orsk furniture superstore. How cool is that?

I first came across Horrorstor while watching a bookhaul from Jesse. (Jessethereader) Not even waiting until he read the synopsis, I raced over to Amazon to add it to my wishlist. First of all, can we just take a moment to appreciate this cover. I mean, I am OBSESSED with Ikea. 95% of our furniture and accessories come from this store, so that definitely helped sway my decision to buy this. I also had the chance to take a peak at the inside of the book, and the layout is made to resemble an Ikea catalog, complete with furniture details and more. I don't know about you guys but I am so impressed by how much thought the author put into this book. Hopefully the story lives up to the high expectations I have.

Horror, Ikea? Count me in!

Release Date: September 23, 2014

Darcy wrote the story, Lizzie lives it.

I read an excerpt of Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld on twitter and was blown the f#@k away! It follows two different people, Darcy Patel and Lizzie. Darcy being the author of "Afterworlds" and Lizzie, the main protagonist. In the story we get alternating chapters from the author detailing her move to another state, and I'm assuming the process of getting her book published, and also from the protagonist, as we witness Darcy's story come to life told from Lizzie's point of view. The sneak peak ended at chapter 3, and I was dying to read more of this book, that I pre-ordered it via Amazon.

I haven't read The Uglies or Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld but what I've read so far of Afterworlds definitely made me a fan.

Release Date: September 2 2014

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas needs no introduction, and to be honest, I really can't give you one because I don't want to spoil myself. (I've only read Throne of Glass so far) Just know that I'm excited to continue the series. I wasn't completely blown away, (this seems to be my favorite word today lol) like others, but I definitely enjoyed it enough to pick up the following books.

Does Celaena fall in love with Chaol and make beautiful evil babies? No? Well whatever, a girl can dream right?

So that concludes this week's Waiting on Wednesday. What are you guys looking forward to reading? Let's chat below!

    1. It does! I'm just praying the story is good. There's mixed reviews about, so we'll just have to wait and see. The 23rd is so far away though! lol. Yes Afterworlds is going to be soooo good. I read the first 3 chapters and girl let me tell you, I was pissed I couldn't read more. It's definitely cool to read about the author who wrote the book, and then read the story she actually wrote through her main character's POV. I didn't think things would go down so quickly, especially being only on chapter 2, but ish gets real! I can't wait to continue.

Oh my goodness you have to start Throne of Glass! To my surprise I really enjoyed it. I actually had a read along with Mallory and Jenniee, to other book bloggers, so if you're reading TOG anytime soon and want to continue with COM, then let me know! I have a e-book version I can send to you so that you can join us!
